XBOX GAMES SHOWCASE

THE PROJECT

XBOX Games Showcase

The XBOX Games Showcase is XBOX’s annual stage for what’s next in gaming, bringing together major reveals, first looks at gameplay, and updates from its own studios and development partners around the world. For XBOX, it’s a defining opportunity to communicate its vision, demonstrate the strength of its upcoming games, and build confidence in the brand’s future. For the broader gaming community, it’s a shared moment of discovery and anticipation—a chance to celebrate beloved franchises, discover unexpected new favorites, and debate where gaming is headed. It gives developers a global spotlight and players a glimpse of the experiences they’ll be talking about and playing next.

THE STORY BEHIND THE VIDEO

The XBOX Games Showcase is one of XBOX’s highest-profile events of the year. It’s a global stage for major announcements, first looks, and the games that will help define what’s next for the brand. Every moment is carefully considered, and the stakes are high.

Working on the show means collaborating directly with the XBOX leadership team, and can reach as high as that ladder goes. The edit has to communicate their vision clearly while bringing together material from teams across the organization. There are countless moving parts, and details that might seem small on another project can carry real weight here.

As an editor, I love the creative challenge of helping to shape the show’s pacing, energy, and flow. But the job also demands meticulous attention to accuracy and technical execution. Names, footage, messaging, timing, and final deliverables all need to be right. When the show goes live, there’s no opportunity for a last-minute fix.

It’s that combination of creative storytelling, close collaboration, and the pressure of delivering at this scale that makes the Showcase such a rewarding project to be part of.
