Seattle Sounders FC – “This. Is. It.”
A collaboration with the local creative agency TETHER, as part of their overall Sounders FC campaign.
THE STORY BEHIND THE VIDEO
By winning the Western Conference Final, the Sounders FC made history. They’d beaten the best team in the league and were preparing to host the MLS Cup for the first time ever. So they tapped the team at TETHER to help them build a massive campaign that would help rally the city around the team and the event.
The video portion was only a small part of the work, but it was the part I owned. I worked with folks from TETHER and fromt he Sounders to craft a hype video we could all be proud of.
At the core of the campaign was their tagline: “This. Is. It.” A refrain big and bold enough to span all creative executions and encompass every white-knuckle moment that makes up a match of that magnitude. Every sliding tackle, every fingertip save, every jump-out-of-your-seat shot on goal. A rally cry for the whole city to chant in unison, echoing throughout the region and Seattle’s history.
That’s a bandwagon I couldn’t wait to jump on.
